Strategic Technology Buyer
£40,000–£45,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits (CIPS sponsorship) London or Newcastle | Hybrid Working
Kick-Start Your Career in Technology Procurement
My client is looking for an ambitious procurement professional with around 2 years' strategic sourcing experience who is keen to build a career in Technology Procurement.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing global procurement team, working directly with an experienced and highly regarded Head of IT Procurement. You'll gain exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and category management while building expertise in one of procurement's fastest-growing categories.
Previous Technology Procurement experience isn't essential. My client is looking for someone with strong procurement fundamentals, commercial curiosity and the ambition to learn and develop.
As a Strategic Technology Buyer, you'll support the delivery of sourcing projects across IT and Technology spend, working with stakeholders across the business to deliver value, manage suppliers and drive procurement best practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end strategic sourcing and tender activities.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements.
- Support supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Assist with supplier relationship management and supplier performance reviews.
- Help deliver category strategies and sourcing plans.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with governance and business policies.
Who They're Looking For
- Around 2 years' experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or category management.
- Experience supporting or delivering end-to-end sourcing projects and competitive tenders.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercially minded with good negotiation skills.
- A proactive attitude and genuine desire to build a career in Technology Procurement.
- Degree qualified (preferred).
- CIPS qualified, studying towards CIPS, or keen to begin your CIPS qualification

Previous Technology Procurement experience isn't essential. My client is keen to speak with talented procurement professionals from retail, FMCG, manufacturing, construction, professional services or other indirect procurement backgrounds who are looking to specialise in Technology Procurement.
