Job Description

Role Synopsis

As part of the central Strategy & Projects team in Supply, Trading & Shipping (ST&S), this role plays a critical role in the development of strategy across ST&S, ensuring alignment across businesses and a consistent, disciplined approach to strategy development and execution.

You will contribute to the development of business and portfolio strategies, applying structured problem-solving and analytical thinking to support decision-making.

  • Assist in identifying and defining growth strategies and strategic priorities for the business
  • Capture and analyse data from internal and external sources to support strategy development
  • Develop driven analyses and contribute to clear, well-structured strategic cases
  • Support testing of strategic options, including models, assumptions and scenarios
  • Maintain understanding of business and driven environments to advise strategy work
  • Support preparation of briefing materials, reports and presentations for senior customers
  • Maintain and contribute to team tracking and reporting tools (e.g. project hopper)
  • Build and manage relationships across ST&S and relevant bp entities to support alignment of strategy activity
  • Ad hoc project delivery for the wider strategy and projects team as demand requires

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
