Strategy and Operations Associate (Bookings Team)
As our next Strategy and Operations Associate (Bookings Team), you’ll play a key role in helping us build the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace.
You’ll be part of the Bookings team which is a team focused on transforming Checkatrade from a lead generation platform into a true end-to-end bookings and transactions marketplace, where customers can seamlessly book, manage and pay for services directly through Checkatrade.
We’ve built and shipped multiple products, including Checkatrade Express and Checkatrade for Business which are early-stage products that are already powering real bookings and helping us move towards this vision.
Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:
- Help shape the future of home services as part of a small, ambitious and entrepreneurial team.
- Tackle a wide range of challenges in a fast-moving team where priorities evolve quickly.
- Working across strategy, product and data to test ideas, launch new features and solve meaningful problems.
- Partnering closely with product managers, engineers and operators to turn ideas into live products that make a real impact.
- Driving operational excellence. You’ll identify bottlenecks, improve processes and build scalable workflows that improve how our products perform day-to-day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
