Shape the strategy and economics driving the transition to a low-carbon energy future

As our Strategy and Policy Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Cadent responds to the future energy landscape. This isn’t just about analysis — it’s about influencing strategy, informing decision-making and helping position Cadent as a thought leader in the transition to Net Zero.

This is a permanent role, where you’ll provide robust economic, regulatory and market analysis to support the development of future energy strategies. You’ll work across the business and with external stakeholders to develop insights, scenarios and frameworks that support the evolution of gas networks, including hydrogen, biomethane and hybrid energy systems.

You’ll support high-profile work influencing policy, regulatory frameworks and industry thinking, helping Cadent navigate complex challenges and opportunities in a rapidly changing environment.

Looking for flexibility without losing connection?

This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds, with office/home working patterns customisable to your needs. Travel to our Ansty Park office is required, but notice will be provided to enable you to make necessary travel plans. Speak to us during the application process to discuss in more detail.

Alongside flexible working, you'll enjoy a fantastic benefits package including a company performance bonus, double-matched pension, wellbeing initiatives, and excellent learning and development opportunities.

Why you’ll love this role:

  • Strategic Insight & Analysis – Deliver economic, commercial and regulatory analysis that informs Cadent’s long-term strategy.
  • Energy Transition Focus – Support work across hydrogen, biomethane, hybrid systems and Net Zero pathways.
  • Policy & Regulatory Influence – Contribute to consultation responses and help shape future regulatory and market frameworks.
  • Scenario & Modelling Development – Build and apply economic models and scenarios to evaluate future energy options.
  • Thought Leadership – Support the development of high-quality insight and publications that position Cadent as an industry leader.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Work with government, regulators and industry groups to influence outcomes and build relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with strategy, regulation, finance and external affairs teams to deliver joined-up outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
