Role Overview

This Senior Leadership position sits within strategy and transformation, shaping DPD UK’s long-term direction. Your work will translate corporate vision into actionable strategies, facilitate cross-functional alignment, and identify high-impact business opportunities. Proven analytical and executive communication skills are essential, as is a collaborative mindset to support the operations, customer experience, and business growth pillars of DPD UK’s strategy.


Responsibilities

Strategic Growth & Business Development

  • Lead the annual strategic planning cycle—defining priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring long-term competitiveness.
  • Conduct market and competitive analyses, including trend evaluation and financial modelling, to uncover opportunities and risks.
  • Develop business cases, financial models, and implementation plans for strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee merger and acquisition (M&A) evaluations, with a focus on aligning with the operational model’s priorities.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with department heads and executive leaders to establish strategic goals and drive performance accountability.
  • Champion a customer-centric and colleague-centric approach, ensuring initiatives deliver tangible benefits.

Execution & Risk Management

  • Source insights for executive reporting, presenting clear strategies and recommendations in compelling formats.
  • Monitor strategic projects, identifying bottlenecks and crafting risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Proven strategic planner with a background in corporate development, business transformation, or M&A evaluation.
  • Direct experience in planning/organising macro-level strategy for a UK/European publicly-listed corporation.
  • Analytical leadership, combining business acumen, numeracy, and commercial insight.
  • Excellent data interpretation, visual presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, including senior stakeholder alignment.

Education & Competencies

  • Degree: Business, Economics, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Strategic management or M&A education not required but valued.
  • Soft skills: Conflict resolution, operational resilience, and fostering collaboration.
