Street Cleansing Operative
Street Cleansing Operative – Breckland Contract
Location: Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 1BT Salary: £27,996.68 per annum plus excellent benefits Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) – Wednesday to Sunday, 8am to 4.30pm
About the Role
Ready to make a meaningful impact? As a Street Cleansing Operative in our Breckland contract, you’ll help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces for local communities. Your hard work will contribute to higher environmental standards and a service the public trusts.
Your role is hands-on and rewarding, where you can see real results from your contributions.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Carry out programmed and responsive cleansing duties (hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly)
- Operate cleansing machinery and vehicles safely and confidently
- Follow contract-specific requirements and specifications
- Track and ensure key performance indicators are met
- Report progress, challenges, and issues to your line manager
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to suggest service improvements
- Complete daily machinery/vehicle inspections and maintenance
- Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and functionality
- Deliver outstanding customer service to the public
