Role Description
The Strength and Conditioning Coach is a part-time, hybrid role based in Guildford, with a mix of on-site training and some work from home for planning and analysis. The coach will design and deliver strength and conditioning programs for players, including warm-ups, gym sessions, pitch-based conditioning, and recovery protocols. Day-to-day tasks include assessing athletic performance, monitoring player progress, coordinating with coaching and medical staff, and adapting programs to individual needs. The coach will implement injury prevention strategies, educate players on best practices, and maintain accurate training records. Remote work tasks may include program design, data review, and communication with staff and players.

Qualifications

- Applied sports science knowledge, including exercise physiology and performance monitoring.
- Demonstrated expertise in strength & conditioning and strength training program design.
- Experience working on athletic performance development, including speed, power, endurance, and agility.
- Skills in injury prevention, including load management and safe training techniques.
- Relevant degree or certification in Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning, or a related field (e.g., NSCA CSCS, UKSCA or equivalent).
- Experience coaching football or team sport athletes in a club or academy environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with coaches, medical staff, and players.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by training and match schedules.
