You must be a Sole British Citizen and qualify for Security Clearance.
Job Description
The Structural Analysis Engineer will deliver end-to-end structural and Stress Analysis packages for a wide range of marine mechanical and hybrid structures.
You will assess new and ageing assets, evaluating load paths, through-life degradation and other integrity challenges common in dockyard environments.
You’ll scope, plan and execute analysis work with minimal oversight, producing robust hand calculations, analytical models, and clear evidence to support engineering decisions.
A key part of the role is balancing technical rigour with practical delivery timescales while ensuring all recommendations meet safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structural and stress analysis for marine mechanical and hybrid structures.
- Assess structural integrity considering environmental loads, degradation and ageing mechanisms.
- Produce hand calculations, analytical models and supporting evidence.
- Lead complete analysis packages from initial scope to final presentation.
- Develop pragmatic, safety-focused recommendations and modifications.
- Maintain high-quality documentation, drawings and analysis records.
- Engage directly with customers and multidisciplinary teams to clarify requirements and communicate results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
