The Team

The world’s first engineering consultant to be certified carbon neutral, Cundall’s mission is to provide a pathway to net-zero-carbon for all the buildings we design. We need engineers who share this passion for sustainability, to design energy efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective buildings.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced and client-focused Structural Engineer to join our structures group. The right candidate will be a key member of our local structural disciplinary service, whilst playing a crucial role in helping extend our service across the UK and leading the design of some of the most exciting and prestigious construction projects, across a variety of sectors.

Closely collaborating with the rest of the global structures teams, the successful candidate will:

  • Take responsibility for driving forward business development with new and existing client relationships in the local and UK market
  • Lead the delivery of local and international structural engineering projects

This role offers the successful applicant:

  • Managerial and leadership responsibility for the development of our local structural engineering team
  • Wider general regional structural disciplinary responsibilities

The role will best suit technically-orientated structural engineers and highly ambitious team leaders who have experience in both the operational and client-facing aspects of the role.

The Skills

A chartered civil/structural engineer (CEng or equivalent), you will:

  • Hold a recognised degree in structural or civil engineering
  • Have gained significant practical design experience in structural engineering within a multi-disciplinary international consultancy environment
  • Demonstrate an accomplished level of relevant hands-on skills in:
    • Advanced structural analysis
    • Essential structural design software

Awareness or knowledge of advanced computational design and visual programming approaches, particularly for structural engineering tools such as Grasshopper, is highly desirable.

Your career to date requires you to:

  • Have demonstrated a solid track record in structural engineering design, including experience of working on either medium or large-scale projects
    • Proficient in designing structures using all types of common structural materials and forms
    • Proven experience leading projects and navigating client engagement to develop strong relationships
