Job Description
United Infrastructure is expanding, and we’re looking for a talented Senior Structural Engineer to help shape the future of our design delivery team. If you want to work on impactful infrastructure projects, lead innovative engineering solutions, and help develop the next generation of engineers—this is the role for you.
What You'll Do
Design Delivery
Lead the production and review of detailed 2D/3D design drawings and technical specifications for pipeline infrastructure and temporary works. Carry out and check structural calculations and design reports in line with BS, EN and Eurocode standards. Oversee and validate temporary works designs, including: Pipe supports and crossings Stopple pits, flumes, trench boxes Ditch crossings, bog mats, sheet-piled excavations Technical Leadership & Collaboration

Act as technical lead on key projects, guiding junior engineers and CAD teams. Coordinate with clients, contractors, third-party stakeholders and project managers to ensure seamless delivery. Contribute to Design Risk Assessments and communicate residual risks clearly to project delivery teams.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Promote new methods and digital tools, including BIM and point-cloud processing. Support R&D activities focused on pipeline integrity, temporary works, and digital construction technology.
Compliance & Delivery
Ensure all designs meet CDM 2015 regulations and internal SHEQ standards. Assist project teams with design changes and resolve technical issues on site. Prepare accurate as-built records and drawings for client handover.

Qualifications
Qualifications
BEng/MEng in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Chartered or actively working towards chartership (ICE, IStructE, IMechE)
Experience & Skills
6–8+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure or pipeline design Strong background in both permanent and temporary works Excellent working knowledge of BS 5975 and relevant Eurocodes (steel, concrete, timber) Confident communicator and collaborative team leader with a commitment to quality and safety
