What’s The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer with proven experience to join our team in the London office based in Southwark.

Our projects include a variety of large complex schemes through to smaller local client focussed tasks. We work both in the UK and internationally with interesting clients including F1 Teams, motor manufacturers, Schools/Universities, contractors, developers and Local Authorities.

You will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of structural engineering services. Ridge engineers form a key part of our fully multi-disciplinary design approach.

What you need to do to be effective in this role

Prepare outline designs for structural schemes based on the client’s brief Carry out detailed design calculations to Eurocodes using the latest 3D design software Co-ordinate your designs with other design disciplines and specialists with BIM Assist with the production of detailed design drawings and specifications for tender purposes Visit site during the construction phase to monitor on-site progress Carry out structural surveys of existing buildings and advise on any issues that may arise Analyse and report on structural defects in existing buildings and structures Check outgoing and incoming documents, including Contractors proposal documentation

A good understanding of basic structural behaviour. Possess a proactive approach with a can-do attitude. Be a team player within the structures team, the London Office and with clients and collaborators. A degree in structural or civil engineering and be working towards professional chartership status. Have proven structural design and site experience which you can describe clearly at interview. Demonstrate a good understanding of the basic regulatory requirements including Eurocodes. Have experience and understanding of sustainability issues within structural design. Be a proficient user of Structural Analysis software such as TEKLA, Masterseries, SCIA and TEDDS. Be competent at report writing and other forms of design communication.
