🔧 Job Overview

With a thriving Birmingham office, we are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our core delivery team—playing a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and optimisation of complex structures on large-scale UK and international projects.

This role offers the chance to contribute to ground-breaking engineering solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, consultants and clients to define and deliver technically advanced projects.


📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, and checking of structures across diverse sectors, including bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and marine works
  • Performing load calculations, structural analyses, and validation using advanced numerical methods
  • Mastering design software tools while adhering to Eurocodes and international standards
  • Supporting project coordination, risk management and resource allocation, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met while maintaining high-quality outputs
  • Actively contributing to technical reviews and reporting, empowering informed decision-making

🎓 Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree qualified Civil or Structural Engineer, with progressing towards Chartership via an accredited institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE)
  • Proven experience in designing and analysing structural components, particularly foundations, bridges, and marine structures in steel, concrete or composite materials
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis, construction methods, and advanced numerical modelling
  • Eurocode expertise and familiarity with international design codes and standards

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in finite element analysis software, such as LUSAS and Midas, and advanced engineering tools
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with Excel proficiency for modelling, reporting, and data management

Soft Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Autonomous, comfortable in fast-paced environments, with the ability to meet challenging deadlines while sustaining precision and quality
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills, for stakeholder engagement and documentation
  • Collaborative mindset, with strong team-playing abilities for multidisciplinary workflows
