Location: City of London, London

Salary: £36,000 - £42,000 per annum

About the Position

A highly reputable civil and structural engineering consultancy based in London EC1 is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their growing team. The role involves working on a broad spectrum of projects ranging from residential developments, schools, and commercial offices to large-scale confidential schemes in the power and defence sectors, including projects valued up to £100m.

Ideal for candidates with 1–4 years of design experience in a UK practice, this position offers:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and approval of structural solutions for varied projects
  • Conduct site visits, liaise with clients, and deliver technical reports
  • Ensure compliance with UK engineering standards and client requirements
  • Work on complex multi-million pound projects across power, defence, residential, and commercial sectors
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative structural and civil engineering solutions

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related disciplines (minimum BSc/MEng, preferred MSc)
  • 1–4 years of design experience in a UK-based engineering practice
  • Proven skills in structural analysis, detailing, and drafting
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and commercial awareness
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK (essential)
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, Sap2000)
