Role Description

This full-time Structural Engineer role is based on-site in Glasgow. The Structural Engineer will design and analyze structural systems for buildings and infrastructure, preparing calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings that meet project and regulatory requirements. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with architects and other engineers, and contributing to design reviews and project meetings.

  • Design and analyze structural systems for buildings and infrastructure
  • Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in structural design and analysis of buildings or infrastructure, including familiarity with steel, concrete, timber, and other structural materials
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD, Robot, or equivalent) and strong skills in CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Sound knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and regulations, and an understanding of industry best practices in structural engineering
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills, with attention to detail and quality
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and engage constructively with clients and contractors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic project environment
  • Progress toward professional accreditation (e.g., chartered or licensed engineer status) is highly beneficial
  • Interest in sustainable design, resilience, and innovation in the built environment
