Structural Engineer – Critical Infrastructure Survey Programme
Are you ready to make a significant impact on critical infrastructure?
A leading organisation within the defence infrastructure and engineering sector is seeking two experienced Structural Engineers to support a major structural survey programme across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term project carrying out essential structural inspections, with an initial 3-month contract and the potential for ongoing work.
The Role
As the Structural Engineer, you’ll:
- Carry out five-yearly structural surveys on steel fire staircases across a large estate.
- Complete detailed structural inspections, identifying defects and recommending remedial actions where required.
- Produce clear, accurate survey reports and supporting documentation following each inspection.
- Work collaboratively with site teams to ensure surveys are completed safely and efficiently.
- Plan and manage your daily workload, with an expectation of completing approximately 8–10 surveys per day, including report writing.
- Travel across the region as required, with accommodation provided for overnight stays where necessary.

Requirements
To be successful in the role of Structural Engineer, you’ll bring:
- A recognised qualification in Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Experience carrying out structural inspections, condition surveys, or structural assessments.
- Strong report writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing your own workload.
- BPSS or SC Security Clearance, or the willingness to obtain clearance prior to commencing work.
- A full UK driving licence, with the willingness to travel extensively as part of the role.
