Role Description

The Structural Project Engineer will work full time on-site in Harrogate, leading and supporting structural engineering projects from concept through delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Performing structural analysis and design
  • Preparing calculations and drawings
  • Reviewing masonry and other structural elements for safety and compliance
  • Coordinating with civil engineering teams
  • Liaising with clients and project stakeholders
  • Contributing to project planning and reporting
  • Monitoring construction progress
  • Addressing technical queries
  • Ensuring that project timelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are met

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis, including design of common structural materials and systems.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Civil Engineering for building and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with masonry design, detailing, and assessment in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Solid Project Management skills, including planning, coordination, and progress tracking across multiple stakeholders.
  • Relevant engineering degree (e.g., Civil or Structural Engineering) and progress toward professional accreditation or chartership is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software, and familiarity with applicable UK or international design codes.
  • Effective communication, report writing, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to health, safety, and quality in engineering practice.
