Morgan Hunt are working with a UK wide consultancy to recruit an experienced Structural Technician to join their Glasgow team. This role gives you the chance to work on a portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, education, and public sectors.
Working alongside structural engineers and multidisciplinary design teams, you will play a key role in the production and coordination of high-quality technical drawings and BIM models from concept through to construction.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent attention to detail, and experience delivering structural drawings for a variety of building structures projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate structural drawings and 3D models for a range of building projects using Revit and AutoCAD
- Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, detailed construction drawings, schedules, and reinforcement layouts where required
- Coordinate structural models with architectural, civil, and MEP disciplines using BIM workflows
- Assist engineers in the preparation of technical information for planning, tender, and construction stages
- Ensure drawings comply with current industry standards, company procedures, and project requirements
- Carry out drawing revisions and respond to technical comments throughout project delivery
- Support the continuous development of BIM standards and drawing quality within the team
- Assist with mentoring junior technicians where appropriate

Requirements:
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
- Experience as a Structural Technician within a structural engineering consultancy
- Proven experience producing drawings for building structures projects
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Good understanding of structural detailing in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber
- Experience coordinating models within a BIM environment
- Knowledge of UK construction standards and engineering drawing practices
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Experience working on residential, retail, hotel, commercial projects
- Familiarity with Navisworks and BIM collaboration platforms
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete detailing software
