Core Responsibilities

  • Transactional Leadership
    • Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of complex funding instruments (securitisation, asset-backed finance, structured credit).
    • Own full lifecycle of multi-arm deals, from financial models through regulatory approvals to closing.

  • Product Development

    • Develop and refine new funding structures (e.g., term sheets, quasi-equity overlays) to address gaps in the market’s SME lending toolkit.
  • Strategic Oversight

    • Govern WIP (work-in-progress) pipelines, underwriting and portfolio performance.
    • Ensure adherence to: FCA regulatory frameworks, risk appetite matrices, State Aid eligibilities, and public expenditure guidelines.
  • Management & Leadership

    • Managing a team while mentoring structured finance associates/juniors.
    • Nurture senior commercial partnerships to deepen investor and lender engagement.

About the Candidate

Required Experience

  • 10+ years in structured finance/credit markets: Transaction structuring for asset-backed structures (e.g., unsecured bridge lending, ABS-liquidity trades). Dealing with public-sector off-take/guarantees and hybrid capital. Strong SME-credit experience with bankruptcy risk controls.
  • Proven end-to-end deal execution records in complex environments.
  • Compliance/accountability expertise across UK/EU markets.

Essential Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline or M/PgDip in banking/finance. (MBA/MSc welcomed but not forced.)
