Strutt & Parker - Graduate Rural Surveyor

Land Management Graduate Surveyor – Perth or Inverness

We are seeking talented and ambitious individuals to join our Land Management team in Perth, Scotland, or Inverness. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the attributes required to excel as a Rural Chartered Surveyor, with the opportunity to work towards RICS accreditation and CAAV Fellowship through our 2-year Graduate Programme.


About the Role

This programme helps develop graduates into Fellows of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) while supporting progress towards a full RICS qualification.


Training and Development

  • Full RICS APC training with ongoing mental health support
  • Full CAAV training
  • Pre-APC mock interviews, presentation training and seminars
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) lectures

Roles and Responsibilities

Main Accountabilities

  • Complete day-to-day tasks assigned by line managers and APC supervisors
  • Take ownership of projects aligned to your team/department
  • Regular check-ins with APC supervisor and counselor on RICS progress
  • Ability to prioritise and self-manage workload

Client Delivery

  • Strong industry/team awareness to provide high-quality reporting
  • Adaptable communication style with responsiveness to client needs
  • Proactive approach to improving service and relationships

Clients and Business Development

  • Build internal and external contacts while supporting client engagement
  • Commercially astute with insatiable interest in farming, rural property, and sustainability

Person Specification

We are looking for a driven, multiskilled candidate, ideally with:

Core Traits

  • Strong communication skills (written/oral)
  • Team-player mentality, capable of collaborative relationships
  • Commercial acumen with grades A–C GCSE Maths/Equivalent
  • Farming experience or related passion for agriculture/sustainability
  • Interest in rural/relegate heritage properties
  • Natural curiosity and enthusiasm for business development networking

Qualifications & Skills

  • University degree (any discipline)
  • Exceptional research and analytical aptitude
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Hands-on practical farming knowledge (asset)
