Student Data and Systems Officer (Curriculum)
Officer Role in Curriculum Infrastructure and Data Team
The Student Data and Systems (SDS) service supports learning and teaching at UWE and helps enhance the student experience. The SDS community collaborates to integrate diverse business and system units, fostering a "Team UWE" approach to managing student data and systems effectively.
Current Vacancy
We are currently recruiting for an officer role within our Curriculum Infrastructure and Data team to oversee the updating and stewardship of curriculum data across key systems, including curriculum and student master systems. This role ensures accurate, up-to-date data supports a positive student experience and contributes to successful learning and teaching outcomes.
About the Role
The Curriculum Infrastructure and Data team is responsible for maintaining and progressing our curriculum data to enhance the overall student journey. This includes:
- Providing information stewardship, reporting, and documentation of curriculum data
- Ensuring effective workload prioritisation, meeting deadlines, and focusing on service enhancements
- Applying solution-focused skills to improve service delivery
- Offering excellent customer service, identifying efficiencies and contributing to continuous improvement
As part of this role, you’ll interact with stakeholders across UWE Bristol while fostering strong working relationships to successfully deliver the team’s service objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and manage curriculum data across key systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting
- Provide expertise on information stewardship and best practices for data handling
- Develop and maintain documentation and reports to support decision-making
- Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Actively promote continuous improvement by introducing process enhancements
- Engage in joint problem-solving and service delivery challenges with the broader Team UWE community

Requirements
Essential
- Experience in stewarding or managing student data in higher education, particularly relating to structured systems and databases
- Demonstrated ability in workload prioritisation, ensuring tasks are delivered efficiently and on time
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Customer service orientation, with a focus on delivering excellent service experiences
- Evidence of adapting to and improving processes in a complex organisational environment
- Basic familiarity with data analysis and information stewardship principles
Desirable
- Hands-on experience with Curricula or Student Master Systems, such as ** degree audit tools** or similar
- Experience in data management and reporting tools, such as SQL databases, Excel or similar analytics platforms
- Familiarity with Higher Education processes, such as validation, programme approval, and academic governance procedures

Interviews
Interviews will take place at our Frenchay Campus during the week commencing 3rd August 2026.
Post Details
This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week. The role is available on a job share basis for applicants preferring part-time working.
Location
The post is campus-based (minimum 40% of time), with some flexibility under announcement for remote work.
