Summary
The Student Finance Advisor assists prospective American Institute students in all pre-enrollment aspects of the financial aid process by providing accurate information regarding funding. In addition, the Student Finance Advisor services current and former students by providing superior customer service, Financial Aid processing, and loan counseling. A Student Finance Advisor’s breakdown of activities varies depending on the team to which he/she is assigned, the current needs of the department, and the discretion of the Director of Student Finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Counsels and advises students about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, loan management and financial planning; individualizes information to the particular needs and situation of the
- Answers questions, inquiries or requests from students, regarding financial aid programs and eligibility as well as Alternative Funding Sources
- Able to evaluate and resolve student inquiries, issues, and problems and ensure that the appropriate action is taken to the satisfaction of the student
- Maintain telephone coverage during assigned shift and be available to answer inbound calls from students and internal customers
- Assist students in all aspects of the financial aid process via telephone or e-mail by delivering accurate, up-to-date information in a calm, polite, professional demeanor
- Be able to advise the student on Loan/Grant Eligibility Status and provide guidance/follow up where resolution is needed
- Be able to assist the students with completing necessary Financial Aid documents by providing guidance in a calm, professional manner
- Be able to provide accurate information regarding student’s Financial Aid by referencing to training materials
- Act in compliance with Federal and Institutional regulations
- Adhere to set schedule
- Acquire, enter, edit, and update Student Data in various internal and external systems
- Attend required training sessions
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
- Assists the business to maintain higher enrollment conversion rates by providing exceptional customer service to our students
- Meet assigned productivity goals

Compensation
Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.
Compensation Range
$24—$25 USD
