About Oldham College

Oldham College is one of the largest further education providers in Greater Manchester, supporting thousands of students each year to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need for their future.

We work closely with local employers, universities, and community partners to deliver education and training that meets the needs of our region. Our staff play a vital role in creating a supportive, inclusive environment where students and colleagues can thrive.

Every role at the College contributes to helping people achieve their potential.

About The Role

We are seeking someone for this role who can support the delivery of Oldham College’s Marketing and Student Recruitment Strategy, aligned to the College Strategic Plan, by providing a seamless link between school engagement, student recruitment and admissions.

The role will focus on enhancing the prospective student journey from initial enquiry through to enrolment, improving conversion rates through proactive communication, relationship building and effective follow-up. Working closely with the Admissions team, the postholder will provide essential administrative and operational support to streamline processes, improve the applicant experience and help strengthen future recruitment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Build positive and lasting relationships with prospective students, parents/carers and schools throughout the recruitment journey.
  • Proactively engage with applicants following school visits, open events, interview evenings, Year 10 Taster Days and New Student FEst to maintain enthusiasm and encourage conversion to enrolment.
  • Support students through the application process by providing guidance, advice and practical assistance.
  • Represent Oldham College at school visits, careers events and recruitment activities, working collaboratively with Student Recruitment colleagues or independently where appropriate.
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
