We are seeking to recruit a Student Placement working within our Commercial department in our Dundee Office.
The Role
We have an excellent student placement opportunity working within our Dundee-based Commercial Agency team.
To assist in a full range of general practice surveying services to an extensive and varied client base. Assist in providing a Complete Property Service to our clients, delivering on both quality, turnaround & cost effectiveness.
Provide effective support to Surveyors by carrying out various tasks with adequate supervision. Ensure services provided are managed effectively in line with defined clients SLA`s and reporting requirements, and that all processes are followed in accordance with G+S policy guidelines.
Role Requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data on the firm`s central systems, ensuring the timely and accurate production of reports for review.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant sector legislation, policy, and the firm`s products, services, and processes to support excellent customer care and service delivery.
- Work closely with Graduates and Chartered Surveyors to build commercial awareness and professional expertise, while fostering strong working relationships with colleagues across all departments.
- Uphold RICS regulatory compliance standards and contribute to a positive working environment by maintaining a low level of serious justifiable complaints or internal grievances.
- Actively gain knowledge and understanding of other areas of the business and take personal responsibility for the completion and maintenance of any college or university coursework, where applicable.

Key Duties
- Maintenance of records on the central database and provision of assistance to fellow colleagues as necessary.
- Contacting clients and customers on behalf of senior colleagues and liaising effectively to ensure all transactions progress satisfactorily.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, applications, and supporting documents, while researching and interpreting data for learning purposes.
- Assist and support in the preparation for meetings and shadow site visits to develop practical experience and understanding.
- Learn to operate relevant IT systems and undertake ad hoc duties assigned by senior colleagues as required.
Skills + Experience
- Currently undertaking, or intending to undertake, an RICS or RTPI-accredited degree through online study or day release at a relevant university.
- Possesses knowledge of the property industry, together with strong IT skills across Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrates a clear awareness of the importance of accuracy and meeting deadlines, supported by excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the confidence to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels across different departments and offices.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
