Student Recruitment Representative
Admissions Advisor & Student Recruitment Representative
A Student Recruitment Representative and Admissions Advisor supports prospective students in navigating the application process, offering guidance on programs, admissions requirements, and career pathways. This role focuses on proactive recruitment, relationship-building, and ensuring prospective students effectively transition to the institution.
The ideal candidate will engage with potential students—both online and in-person—to assess their goals, motivations, and any barriers preventing them from pursuing education. They help overcome obstacles and nurture relationships with prospective students, families, advisors, and decision-makers to convert enquiries into enrollments.
Key Responsibilities
Student Outreach
- Conduct initial outreach via phone, email, and text messages to discuss academic interests and guide applicants through the admissions process.
- Proactively source and qualify leads through various platforms (social media, outreach databases, partnerships).
- Collaborate with marketing teams to align campaigns and follow up with generated leads in a timely manner.
- Travel to career fairs, trade shows, and external events to interact with potential students face-to-face.
- Represent GIA at open house events and present key information on:
- Academic programs and campus life
- Admissions processes and financial aid
- Career pathways and career development support
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with prospective students, assessing:
- Their motivation for attending GIA
- Career goals and aspirations
- Any personal or logistical barriers preventing them from enrolling
- Proactively support applicants in overcoming challenges to ensure a seamless path to registration.
- Track and exceed recruitment performance metrics, including:
- Lead conversions
- Student engagement rates
- Enrollment targets

Advising and Application Support
- Provide comprehensive information on:
- Program course structures and specialisations
- Campus resources and student support services
- Career development and industry trends
- Conduct needs assessments during meetings to match students with suitable degree paths.
- Organise and lead small-group campus tours for prospective students and their families.
- Guide applicants through every stage of applications, liasing them with admissions teams where necessary.
- Answer questions promptly, clarify requirements, and assist with documentation and next steps.
Campus Visits and Events
- Host and participate in campus visits, information sessions, and education fairs to promote the institution.
- Organise and support special events, including:
- Open house services
- Orientation programs
- Information sessions (virtual and in-person)
Relationship Building
- Foster long-term connections with family members, secondary/higher education advisors, and career specialists to secure referrals.
- Engage with current students and alumni to gather insights and promote additional programmes.
- Address student queries empathy, providing reassurance to concerns through consultative questioning and support.

Data Management and Compliance
- Maintain accurate student records within the admissions database, updating key touchpoints, application progress, and engagement stages.
- Generate recruitment reports, tracking performance and conversion rates.
- Document all communications, including initial conversations, follow-ups, and final decisions.
- Stay current with admissions policy updates, including:
- Scholarship scheme changes
- legal and regulatory standards (e.g., Data Protection Act 1998 and FERPA guidelines).
- Ensure confidentiality at all times, escalating complex enquiries when necessary.
