Are you an experienced nurse or midwife ready to develop your career within specialist community public health nursing?

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for registered nurses and/or midwives to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN – School Nursing) training programme, commencing January 2027.

This 12 month programme prepares practitioners for autonomous, preventative public health practice, focused on improving outcomes for children and families and reducing health inequalities across communities.

Successful candidates are employed as valued members of our School Nursing Team, enabling them to develop the knowledge and skills required for safe, effective, and autonomous SCPHN practice.

This role is a community-based role with your duties being carried out between your base, home, and a range of community settings, for example, a school/family hub or trust site.

We will be offering one post within the East Sussex School Health service, which covers the whole of East Sussex (except for Brighton & Hove). Our main base is in Polegate, which is where you will mainly work from during your training, but we also have a base in Hastings.

Please note, this vacancy does not meet the criteria for skilled worker sponsorship and therefore, we are unable to accept applications from candidates that cannot provide documentary evidence of right to work in the United Kingdom.

What will the role involve?

Completing your SCPHN qualification School Nursing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
