STUDENT SUPPORT
Student Support Worker
Location: Hackney, East London Contract Type: Full Time / Term Time Only Setting: Highly regarded pastoral team | Popular secondary school
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a committed and resilient Student Support Worker to join a successful and oversubscribed East London secondary school.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting students who require additional guidance with behaviour, engagement, attendance, and wellbeing. You will play a key role within the pastoral team, helping young people overcome barriers and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
The Student Support Worker Role
- Lead and manage the Internal Exclusion (Referral) Room
- Mentor students at risk of disengagement
- Support behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing initiatives
- Investigate incidents and work closely with Heads of Year
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and external agencies
- Promote high standards of behaviour and school culture
The Ideal Student Support Candidate
Has:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Calm, confident, and resilient under pressure
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Passionate about supporting young people
