We are seeking a Student Welfare Officer to join our team at Jubilee High School, part of Bourne Education Trust.
As Student Welfare Officer, you will play a central role in supporting students’ personal development, wellbeing and behaviour - ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
You will work closely with our Heads of Year to maintain the highest standards of behaviour, attendance and conduct across the school. You will be a visible and trusted presence for students, providing guidance, consistency and care, as well as responding swiftly and effectively when challenges arise. You will take on specific duties and responsibilities which may include attendance, inclusion or other appropriate specialist roles. These roles should be considered to be flexible and areas of specialism may be expected to change according to operational need.

Details
- Job title: Student Welfare Officer
- Location: Addlestone, Surrey
- Contract: Part-time, permanent, 37 weeks per year (Term-time); 36 hours per week (Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm)
- Salary: PS6 (£30,647 to £32,867 FTE) Actual £25,013.36 to £26,825.27
- Ideal start date: September 2026
- Responsible to: Headteacher

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide effective specialist support in your designated area
- Provide first response support for behaviour and conduct concerns across the school.
- Support Heads of Year with investigating and following up behaviour incidents.
- Lead restorative conversations and small-group sessions to help students improve self-regulation, relationships, and emotional control.
Essential Requirements Include:
- An awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
- Experience working in an office environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
