The Pingle Academy

Location: Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE11 7J

The Pingle Academy is proud to be part of the Affinity Learning Partnership, a growing Multi Academy Trust currently based across Staffordshire and Derbyshire. Our Trust comprises three secondary and four primary academies, each committed to raising aspirations and securing exceptional outcomes for every student.

At The Pingle Academy, we are on an ambitious and exciting journey to further improve standards and outcomes in our pursuit of excellence. We firmly believe that strong behaviour systems underpin high-quality teaching and learning. Clear routines and high expectations enable teachers to focus on their craft and ensure that every lesson offers students the very best educational experience.

We also recognise that children thrive when they are nurtured, known and valued. High-quality pastoral care, wellbeing and support is therefore central to our work and essential to supporting the holistic development of each student. To strengthen this provision, we seek to appoint a caring, energetic and positive individual who is committed to making a difference every day by supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of our students.

Visitors to our Academy comment on the warm welcome, calm atmosphere, and the supportive ethos. We are a community committed to inspiring one another to be the best we can be in everything we do. Our vision is clear: every child and young person in our care deserves the opportunity to fulfil their potential, regardless of background or starting point.

At The Pingle Academy, we believe in working hard, being kind and choosing wisely. We are privileged to serve a community where we can make a genuine difference to children’s lives and futures each day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
