Hi! I'm Jacob, founder of Liverpool Podcast Studios, the UK's leading video-first podcast and content production studio in the heart of Liverpool.
Many people don't know this, but LPS was born out of my spare bedroom in the lockdown of 2020. It was never meant to be a business, and in a way it still isn't run like one. Every decision I've made since has come from an obsessive passion for creating world-class content and looking after the people we make it for, and that's it.
Since 2020, I've been lucky enough to have some incredible people join the team, and every one of them has shaped Liverpool Podcast Studios into what it is today. Honestly, we wouldn't be anywhere without them.
In 2025 we went all in, investing every penny we had into a brand-new flagship studio built from the ground up, all in pursuit of one dream. I never wanted LPS to be just another podcast studio. We're on a mission to redefine the whole industry, setting the global standard, and working with the biggest businesses, brands and creators in the world. Just over a year later, we're already well on the way.
We're in the business of world-class client experience, caring deeply about the impact our work has on our clients. Our clients come to us (many for the first time) and put their reputation, their clients, their guests, in our hands. And that responsibility is something we take incredibly seriously.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the role
As a small, people-led business, the Studio Producer role is the backbone of our entire operation. You'll be welcoming clients into the studio for their sessions, and taking care of the whole production pipeline for them, including running their studio session, all the way through to the post-production and delivery.
Being an excellent producer is the standard and should come as second nature, so your care and attention is on our clients.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Running studio sessions end to end, building sets and custom configurations with a strong visual eye for camera angles and framing and a good ear for audio, from mic position to processing and mix.
- Editing and post-production. Anyone can learn editing software. What I'm looking for is someone who understands how to curate and put together excellent content, and can deliver it to a consistently high standard.
- Looking after client relationships, delivery and admin. Keeping clients informed, getting their content to them on time and to spec, and keeping the standards of all the behind the scenes work just as high as the content.
- Whatever you're great at. Honestly, some of the best things in this business came from someone on the team saying "what if we tried this?" You'll have the creative freedom to get involved wherever your skills take you, whether that's our own content, developing the studio and our services, or trying something none of us have thought of yet.

Who I'm looking for
You'll be working directly alongside me and a very small team, so who you are matters as much as what you can do.
- A people person first. You're naturally warm and have an ability to make people feel comfortable without having to force it.
- You're highly competent across all areas of production, including professional experience in video, audio, lighting and post-production. You don't need to know our exact kit, but you do need the eye for great content, and to be a fast learner with a real appetite to master it.
- Organised, reliable and calm under pressure.
- Someone who wants a career, not just a job. There's real room here to grow, be creative, build relationships that last, and shape the direction of the business and your own career with it. If you want to plod along, this isn't the place. If you want to have an impact, it absolutely is.
How to apply
I hire people, not CVs. So instead of a cover letter, email me a video introduction, just a few minutes, telling me who you are and a bit about yourself. I want to get to know you, and I want you to show me what makes you a great fit for this team.
