Subcontract Buyer – SSE ASTI Framework (Energy Team)
Murphy is recruiting for a Subcontract Buyer to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework.

A Day in the Life
As a Subcontract Buyer at Murphy, you will:
- Provide an effective, professional, and matchless procurement service for sub-contractors and materials.
- Work as part of a dedicated procurement team supporting project delivery.
- Drive best-value procurement solutions tailored to project needs.
- Manage the procurement of materials and subcontracts, which includes:
- Production and management of procurement schedules.
- Development of invitation-to-tender documents in collaboration with project teams.
- Tender analysis and providing award recommendations.
- Advise on supply chain management activities, such as:
- Supply chain structuring.
- Performance and relationship management to enhance efficiency and cost benefits.
- Support supply chain initiatives that ensure continuous improvement in performance.
- Contribute to regional procurement functional goals and objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with new supply chain partners to meet project demands.
- Strengthen supply chain relationships to foster a culture of inclusivity, mutual respect, and collaborative learning.

Requirements
To thrive in this role, we seek candidates with:
- Detailed knowledge of construction procurement processes, procedures, and work practices.
- An existing business network and strong relationships within the supply chain.
- A working understanding of NEC (New Engineering Contract) and similar contract frameworks.
- An appreciation of strategic procurement practices.
- Awareness and adoption of sustainability within procurement activities.
