About the Role
We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert to design and develop high-quality learning modules and assessments within your specialist area.
This role involves translating your expert knowledge into engaging, accessible learning content aligned with:
- Defined learning outcomes
- Industry standards
- Pedagogical best practices
You’ll collaborate with Learning Designers, content teams, and Programme Leaders to ensure materials are: ✔ Accurate and relevant ✔ High-quality and learner-centric

Key Responsibilities
Content Development
- Develop structured module content aligned with agreed learning objectives and curriculum frameworks
- Create original, engaging materials tailored to adult learners (e.g., videos, quizzes, case studies)
- Collaborate with teams to integrate multimedia content, activities, and assessments
Quality & Pedagogy
- Ensure content reflects current industry practices, research, and regulations
- Respond to feedback and revise materials within agreed timelines
- Maintain accessibility, inclusivity, and high-quality standards
Engagement & Alignment
- Attend planning meetings and active learning design discussions
- Adhere to agreed timelines, word counts, and style guidelines
Requirements
Essential Skills
- Recognised expertise in your subject area (academic, professional, or industry-based)
- Experience applying knowledge in real-world practice
- Proven ability to write for education/trade/professional audiences
- Deep understanding of adult learning principles
- Exceptional written communication skills (simplifying complexity effectively)
- Strong organisational skills and deadline management
- Collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork
- Detail-oriented focus on quality and accuracy
Desirable Experience
- Development of accredited or assessed learning materials
- Familiarity with learning design frameworks (ADDIE, SAM, etc.)
- Experience in online or blended learning environments
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices
- Prior teaching or training experience

Deliverables
The role involves producing:
- Complete, high-quality module content and assessment materials
- Supporting resources (e.g., diagrams, case studies)
- Revised drafts reflecting editorial and instructional feedback
- Compliance with academic quality assurance standards
Working Arrangements
- Reports directly to: Programme Leader (or nominated contact)
- Projects begin with clear timelines and milestones
- Ongoing collaboration and communication throughout engagement
