About Legal 500

Legal 500 is a global legal market research, data, and intelligence business. Our research helps corporate clients make informed decisions about legal representation and gives law firms insight into their market position, performance, and clients.

Beyond research, we’re building a growing data, benchmarking, market-intelligence, and subscription service offering. We bring the legal market together through a global programme of events - awards ceremonies, conferences, and roundtables that convene leading law firms, in-house teams, and their advisers. And through Legal Business, our journalistic title, we deliver independent news, analysis, and commentary on the business of law and the strategy, performance, and leadership of the world’s leading law firms.

We are a growing, multi-site organisation, with colleagues working across research, data, technology, product, journalism, commercial, and events in London, Leeds, and Bristol.

About The Role

A Submissions Outreach Executive will play a key role in increasing law firm participation in Legal 500’s research and legal benchmarking process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is not a traditional transactional sales role. You will be helping firms understand how Legal 500 research works, why participation matters, and how submissions can support their visibility in a competitive legal market. Your work will directly support the expansion and depth of our research coverage by ensuring we are engaging with a broader, more representative range of firms and legal service providers.

This is an opportunity to join a new and growing team, helping shape how Legal 500 identifies, engages, and supports law firms across key markets.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Proactively engage law firms and legal services providers in priority markets, helping them understand the value of participating in The Legal 500 research process.
  • Using our contact database, manual market research, and AI-supported filtering tools, you will proactively identify relevant law firms and key contacts across priority markets.
  • Help identify barriers to engagement and work with internal teams to improve the quality of our prospect data and outreach campaigns.
  • Develop a rapport with new external stakeholders.
  • Clearly articulate the benefits of submitting to Legal 500.
  • Continue to develop relationships with submitting firms to maintain engagement from already participating law firms.
  • Review and transform raw data to create clean prospect lists to build datasets and circulate internally.
  • Maintain an accurate and live tracker of outreach activity and progress.
