We are seeking an experienced Subsea Control Systems Technician to join our growing Aberdeen operation. This is a unique opportunity to become the first dedicated Electrical Technician within our Aberdeen facility, helping establish and develop our electrical assembly and testing capability for subsea electrical flying leads and connector systems.
Important Requirements
Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:
- Currently based in the Aberdeen area and able to commute daily to our Altens facility.
- Have the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
- Do not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Have significant Oil & Gas industry experience, specifically within subsea control systems, electrical, and hydraulic subsea equipment.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with subsea production control systems (SPCS), electrical, and hydraulic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, diagnose, repair, and refurbish subsea electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical control system equipment.
- Support the development and growth of our electrical assembly capability in Aberdeen.
- Carry out testing and assembly of subsea electrical flying leads (EFL), electrical distribution units (EDU), transformer units, pressure, and temperature sensors, and associated equipment.
- Assemble, test, and flush hydraulic flying leads (HFL), subsea distribution units, accumulators, and hydraulic power units.
- Perform hydrostatic pressure testing, flushing, and high-pressure tubing activities.
- Undertake electrical testing including IR, continuity, TDR, OTDR, HV/LV, and VLF testing.
- Troubleshoot and repair subsea and topside electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Produce detailed technical documentation and reports.
- Undertake occasional offshore, client site, and international assignments as required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' practical experience working with subsea electrical and hydraulic systems within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of Subsea Production Control Systems (SPCS).
- Experience in assembly, testing, fault finding, and repair of subsea equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering documentation and follow technical procedures.
- Strong commitment to HSE and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable
- SVQ or higher qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Previous offshore and site-based experience.
- Current BOSIET and Offshore Medical certification.
