Subsidence Specialist
We’re looking for our next Subsidence Specialist—someone who can support, influence, and embed best practice within teams, share technical know-how and tactical knowledge to ensure team leaders have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to proactively manage domestic and commercial subsidence claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in a field-based role, visiting claimants who have reported signs of subsidence.
- Manage 60% domestic and 40% commercial claims, typically up to £100K in value.
- Supported by internal claims handlers, equipped with a site pack (claim details, policy information, and any relevant specifics).
- Conduct surveys and diagnostics to identify the cause of building structural movement.
- Report findings within specified timeframes to ensure swift settlement of claims.

Requirements & Qualifications
We’re seeking an experienced Surveyor specialising in subsidence, ideally with a technical problem-solving mindset. Key criteria include:
Experience & Expertise
- Field investigation and repair of damaged buildings, focusing on subsidence diagnosis and movement mitigation.
- Preferred: Chartered or near-chartered status (with an accredited institution such as ICE, IStructE, RICS, or CIOB).
Claim Handling & Technical Compliance
- Desirable (but training provided): Experience in insurance claim handling.
- Must demonstrate a decisive approach to resolving subsidence issues.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft packages (e.g., Excel, Word, databases).

Construction & Compliance Knowledge
- Sound understanding of domestic construction practices.
- Familiarity with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
Operational Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential for nationwide Subsidence Field Operations).
- Flexibility for home/office-based work, with frequent UK travel—peaking weekends and overnight stays during high demand periods.
