Substance Misuse Clinical Lead - HMP Low Newton
Lead Nurse – Secure Substance Misuse Service
Responsibilities:
- Take daily coordination and clinical leadership of the substance misuse service within a secure environment
- Provide expert clinical oversight, promoting best practice and safe, effective, person-centred care for patients with substance misuse and associated physical and mental health needs
- Work as part of an integrated Clinical and Psychosocial Recovery Team, delivering assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Offer clinical advice and intervention in line with national guidance and local policy
- Act as the clinical escalation point and provide supervision, mentorship, and support to nursing staff and allied professionals
Key Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical nursing skills for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in complex substance misuse cases
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, including motivation and staff development
- Clear communication of clinical decisions and operational updating
- High levels of professional autonomy and accountability
- Ability to work independently, make informed clinical decisions, and use initiative within a secure setting
