We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team at HMP Millsike in Yorkshire. HMP Millsike is a new state of the art Category C prison, with capacity of 1500 males.

Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol.

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.

Hours

This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week. 6.45am - 5.45pm over 3 or 4 days, Monday to Friday only, no weekends or nights.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of up to £33,510 per annum.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

Manage a caseload of psychosocial patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc Work with receptions (new patients entering the prison), triaging and carrying out assessments Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness, harm reduction, motivation to change, relapse prevention and wellbeing Deliver SMART sessions, Narcotics Anonymous, Inside Out etc Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments, including SMART Recovery Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices Prepare patients for release and transfer

Our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker will:

Have experience within Substance misuse, ideally a prison / secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways Have experience of managing a caseload Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
