Consultant ENT Surgeon with Sub-specialty Interest in General ENT and Sleep Surgery
Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to invite applications for a substantive Consultant ENT Surgeon with a sub-specialty interest in General ENT and Sleep Surgery. This is a permanent, full-time post comprising 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, developed in response to current service needs within our well-regarded ENT department at Homerton University Hospital.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, collaborative, and forward-thinking ENT department within a Trust rated 'Outstanding' for care by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The post has been developed to support service expansion and to ensure continuity in the delivery of high-quality elective ENT care, with scope to develop services for adult and paediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA). There are opportunities to offer palatal surgery, barbed pharyngoplasty, TORS, and to introduce OSA implants (e.g. hypoglossal nerve stimulation), supported by appropriate theatre access and team collaboration.
About the Role
The ENT Department provides a comprehensive secondary-care service covering adult and paediatric General ENT, Head & Neck, Otology, Rhinology, Paediatric Airway, and Sleep Surgery. The appointee's caseload will primarily comprise adult and paediatric General ENT, adult Sleep Surgery, and elective day-case operating, supported by appropriate outpatient and MDT activity. - 12,000+ new and follow-up outpatient attendances per year (face-to-face and virtual)
- 3,000+ elective and day-case ENT procedures per year
- Active sleep surgery pathway with a growing case-mix in adult OSA
- Established paediatric ENT operating within dedicated paediatric DSU sessions
