Job Description: Casual Scout
Norwich City Football Club is looking to recruit a Scout on a casual basis to identify and recruit talented Academy footballers that have the potential to sign for Norwich City Academy. Due to the ad hoc nature of the role, the candidate will need to be based in, or close to the West / Central Suffolk area.
About the Role
The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is a long-term plan introduced by the Premier League to promote the development of a world-leading Academy system. It aims to deliver an environment that promotes excellence, nurtures talent, and systematically converts this talent into professional players capable of playing First Team football at the Club that develops them. Within the plan, professional Clubs are awarded a categorisation for their Academy, depending on their ability to fulfil the criteria outlined above. Our Academy has been awarded the highest possible status (Category One).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
