About the role
Join Balfour Beatty VINCI for an exciting 8-week paid Summer Placement starting in July 2024.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Summer placement working on HS2, this is a unique opportunity to support your current studies at University and gain invaluable experience working on a Major Project. BBV aims to attract the best people to join our high-performing teams and seek individuals who want to be part of something extraordinary.
You will work with our Joint Venture parent company IT teams and selected third parties to stay current with Microsoft Office365 Power Tools and related Office365 products. You will work within existing processes to suggest the best usage of these tools/products and help with the delivery and subsequent support of any resulting processes.
As part of your placement, you could be involved in:
- Design workshops for process automation.
- Creating/updating process flows to support automation requests and support the BBV Office 365 environment and applications in conjunction with a 3rd party Office 365 provider.
- Providing triage for system incidents and requests and liaising with relevant support.
- Design, development, and support of Office365 based solutions.
- Interfacing with data held in the DataLake and associated reporting environments.
Who We're Looking For
Enthusiastic and motivated individuals currently studying in their 1st or 2nd Year of their degree programme and available for 8 weeks from 1 July 2024. Prioritisation will be given to candidates studying at a Midlands-based University or who are permanent residents within the area.

HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway, is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Role Responsibilities
- Design, development, and support of Office 365 based solutions, Including PowerApps and PowerAutomate.
- Provide triage for system incidents and requests and liaise with relevant support.
- Support BBV Office 365 environment and applications in conjunction with a 3rd party Office 365 provider.
- Creating/updating process flows to support automation requests.
- Interfacing with data held in the DataLake and associated reporting environments.
Essential Experience
Having a friendly and flexible approach to your working day and a willingness to learn will be essential for this role.

- Enthusiastic and motivated individuals currently studying a Computer Science related degree in their 1st or 2nd Year of their degree programme and available for 8 weeks from 20 July 2026. Prioritisation will be given to candidates studying at a Midlands-based University or who are permanent residents within the area.
