Job Description

About the role

Join Balfour Beatty VINCI for an exciting 8-week paid Summer Placement starting in July 2024.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Summer placement working on HS2, this is a unique opportunity to support your current studies at University and gain invaluable experience working on a Major Project. BBV aims to attract the best people to join our high-performing teams and seek individuals who want to be part of something extraordinary.

You will work with our Joint Venture parent company IT teams and selected third parties to stay current with Microsoft Office365 Power Tools and related Office365 products. You will work within existing processes to suggest the best usage of these tools/products and help with the delivery and subsequent support of any resulting processes.

As part of your placement, you could be involved in:

  • Design workshops for process automation.
  • Creating/updating process flows to support automation requests and support the BBV Office 365 environment and applications in conjunction with a 3rd party Office 365 provider.
  • Providing triage for system incidents and requests and liaising with relevant support.
  • Design, development, and support of Office365 based solutions.
  • Interfacing with data held in the DataLake and associated reporting environments.

Who We're Looking For

Enthusiastic and motivated individuals currently studying in their 1st or 2nd Year of their degree programme and available for 8 weeks from 1 July 2024. Prioritisation will be given to candidates studying at a Midlands-based University or who are permanent residents within the area.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
