Sunday Sales Assistant
Following the recent opening of our Lisieux Way charity shop in Taunton, we're looking for an enthusiastic Sunday Sales Assistant to join the team.
Location: Lisieux Way, Taunton
Salary: £4,333.88 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Part time
Working pattern: 6.5 hours on a Sunday. There will also be a need to work additional hours across the week to cover staff leave as required.
As part of our charity retail team, you’ll play a key role in generating vital income that helps us support nearly 5,000 people across Somerset every year.
About Our New Store
Having recently opened its doors, our Lisieux Way charity shop is already becoming a welcoming part of the local community. Situated in a friendly neighbourhood precinct, the store offers a wide range of quality donated clothing and bric-a-brac.
This is an opportunity to join a growing store at the start of its journey. Small in size but big on community spirit, the shop is building a loyal customer base, supported by dedicated volunteers and local donors, while raising funds for St Margaret's Hospice.
What can you expect to be doing?
Working alongside the Shop Manager, Deputy Manager and volunteer team, you'll help deliver an excellent retail experience while supporting the day-to-day running of the store.
Your day to day work will involve:
- Delivering friendly and approachable customer service
- Sorting and lifting donated goods
- Merchandising and creating eye-catching shop displays
- Following till and cash handling procedures
- Helping to support and motivate a team of shop volunteers
- Promoting the services and fundraising activities of St Margaret’s Hospice.

What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a retail environment is desirable but not essential as a full induction and training programme will be provided. However, it will really help if you have:
- Demonstrable high standards of customer service
- Good communication skills.

This role is a physically demanding position within a busy retail environment which includes the lifting of donated goods.
