SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic - RAC Vacancy

Join the RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic

Flexibility deserves recognition – and we deliver. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on, earning a competitive salary and the variety of a truly dynamic role.

About the Role

  • Salary: £50,669 per annum, with the opportunity to earn up to £57,000
  • Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week spread across the year
  • Roster: Provided seven days in advance, with core hours confirmed three days ahead
  • Shifts: Covering 06:00–02:00, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

Location

This role covers the East Kilbride cluster, including:

  • East Kilbride
  • Hamilton
  • Rutherglen
  • Cambuslang
  • Blantyre
  • Bothwell

You’ll perform all work locally to your home.

Responsibilities

###Core Duties:

  • Breakdown Response: Quickly restoring members back onto the road in your local area
  • Technical Problem Solving: Strong diagnostic skills for electrical, mechanical, and electrical faults
  • Self-Management:
    • Maintain your own tools, diagnostic kit, and van supplies
    • Manage and submit accurate call-out reports
  • Customer Focus: Provide exceptional service in challenging situations
  • Adaptability: Handle diverse tasks from routine repairs to overnight stays if necessary

Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
    • Demonstrated experience in technical, electrical, and diagnostic diagnostics
  • Customer Service:
    • Approachable, empathetic, and quick to solve problems
  • Travel & Licensing:
    • Full UK driving licence
    • Willingness to travel flexibly, including overnight stays when required
