About the Role

As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll help our team deliver an exceptional experience for our customers on every visit, providing the Partner-led service and passion for food that our competitors simply cannot match—passionate Partners serving food lovers!

Your dedication to going the extra mile will make all the difference to customers' impressions of the Waitrose brand, earning their trust and loyalty for a lifetime.

Key Responsibilities

Alongside outstanding customer service, your role involves a variety of essential shopkeeping tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations:

  • Stock replenishment – keeping shelves fully stocked and ensuring products are in the right place at the right time for customers.
  • Fulfilling online orders – preparing customer orders efficiently so our drivers can deliver shopped directly to customers’ doors.
  • Reducing wastage – following product due diligence and applying markdowns to items nearing sell-by dates.
  • Wider team support – assisting with checkout operations, managing Click & Collect orders, fulfilling on-demand requests, and more.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean environment – performing general shopkeeping tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Essential & Desirable Skills/Experience

You'll Need

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teammates and customers.

  • A flexible attitude to help support the entire branch where necessary.
