Supermarket Assistant Team Leader Nights
Waitrose Team Leader – Sheffield
About the Role
As a Team Leader at one of our Waitrose shops, you’ll ensure our “difference” is felt with every customer visit:
- Deliver Partner-led service and passion for food—ensuring our rivals can’t compete on passion, quality, or trust.
- Drive customer loyalty by exceeding expectations and earning lifelong trust through your passion for food.
- Contribute to maximising shop performance and helping sales profit targets.
Bonus pay note: Between 22:00–06:00, you’ll earn Night Premium (£3.75/hour)—also applicable to existing Partners under Enhanced Hours Premium.
Key Responsibilities
(Applicants must be 18+ due to working time regulations.)

Leadership & Team Support:
- Support the shop management team with managerial tasks and ensure smooth cross-departmental operations in line with customer demand.
- Uphold safety and legal compliance for Partners (staff).

Customer & Logistics Focus:
- Manage online customer orders, preparing them for delivery straight from the shop.
- Stock replenishment: Maintain fully stocked shelves and timed availability for product placement.
- Entirety of click & collect and on-demand order management.
- Provide checkout support as needed during busy periods.

Commercial Performance & Cost Efficiency:
- Proactively suggest continuous operational improvements to drive shop commercial success.
- Waste reduction: Adhere to product due diligence and markdown protocols for expired items.

Shopkeeping:
- Oversee a clean, safe, and organised workspace: complete daily general shopkeeping tasks.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Soft Skills: Developed leadership, people management, and customer experience expertise.
- Retail Knowledge: Strong grasp of retail operations and maximising commercial goals.
- Customer Service: Extensive experience in in-person customer-facing roles.
- Stakeholder Relations: Skilled in collaborating with third parties and broader team.
(Desirable: Completed Duty Manager Training—internal development only.)
Job Details

- Pay: £14.58/hour (plus night premium)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Working Hours: Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat, 23:00–08:00
