Role Description

The Supervising Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in our Rochdale offices. This role oversees the preparation and review of financial statements, supervises journal entries, and ensures accurate, compliant accounting records for a portfolio of clients. The Supervising Senior Accountant manages tax preparation and filings, reviews work completed by junior team members, and provides guidance on complex accounting and tax matters.

  • Analysing financial data
  • Identifying trends and issues
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting
  • Producing clear reports and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders

The role also involves maintaining strong client relationships, coordinating workflows to meet deadlines, and contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes and controls.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Financial Statements preparation, with experience in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial reports.
  • Experience in tax returns preparation, including compliance, planning, and liaison with tax authorities where required.
  • Well-developed Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA) or equivalent, with post-qualification experience in practice.
  • Previous experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role, including mentoring and reviewing the work of other team members.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software (mainly Xero, Taxcalc, VT, Quickbooks) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a client-focused environment.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, continuous professional development, and alignment with the firm’s values of responsibility and community support.
