Five Rivers Child Care is a Social Enterprise committed to transforming the lives of children and young people by reinvesting our surplus in their futures.
We are looking for a part-time Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering service in Thornaby.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our foster carers and improving outcomes for children and young people.
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will provide essential support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring high-quality care for children within a service committed to achieving positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support foster carers with a manageable caseload, ensuring high levels of supervision and intervention.
- Work within a trauma-informed practice model, offering therapeutic support and guidance.
- Complete Form F assessments and contribute to care planning and strategy meetings.
- Participate in recruitment activities to attract and assess new foster carers.
- Provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis.

Requirements
- Formal Social Work Qualification.
- Valid Driving Licence and Right to Work in the UK.
- Strong written, IT, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Experience in fostering (desirable) or a strong passion to make a difference.

About The Role
- Base location: Thornaby office
- Working pattern: 3 days per week (22.5 hours total)
- Line Manager: Sarah Turner
- This role is a backfill following an internal promotion
