Supervising Social Worker, Staffordshire and Surrounding Areas
We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join our FFP family.
If you’re based in or around Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Cheshire, or the surrounding areas, and you’re looking for a role where you’ll be trusted, supported, and given time to build meaningful relationships with foster families, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Details
- Job Title: Supervising Social Worker
- Location: Home-based (covering Foster families across Staffordshire and the surrounding area), with candidates ideally based in or near Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, or Cheshire
- Reports to: Fostering Manager
- Contract: Full-time, flexible/condensed hours or 4-day week considered
- Salary: £34,514 to £42,656 (depending on experience)
- Closing Date: Friday, 10th [Month not specified]
- Interviews: 16th July
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality supervision and support to foster parents
- Ensure effective matching for children
- Prepare reports for reviews and panels
- Participate in out-of-hours rotas
- Complete Form F assessments
Requirements
Essential:
- A qualified social worker with Social Work England registration
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Confidence to support, challenge, and develop foster parents constructively

Specific Qualifications and Experience:
- Social Work Degree, CQSW, or DipSW/equivalent
- Social Work England registration
- Experience supporting children and families
- Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills
- Ability to work flexibly, meet deadlines, and apply reflective practice
Practical:
- Full driving licence and access to a car (essential for regional travel)
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, confidentiality, and teamwork
Desirable:
- 3+ years’ post-qualifying experience
- Experience in assessments
- Knowledge of fostering legislation
