Supervising Social Worker
We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to work in our North Fostering Service based in our Doncaster office, to support Foster Carers within Lincolnshire, namely Skegness.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with some work completed from home, fact-to-face meetings with Foster Carers in Skegness and some work in the office in Doncaster. You would join a thriving and growing community of Foster Carers and a team of staff with a strong, welcoming, and child-centred ethos.
Five Rivers uses an Attachment and Trauma-Informed Care (ATIC) model, integrating our fostering, residential, clinical, and education services to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
You will directly support our Foster Carers with realistic caseloads, which enables a higher level of supervision, monitoring, and intervention. As a Supervising Social Worker at Five Rivers, you will be working within a trauma-informed practice model that is continually evolving; you will support fostering recruitment events and complete Form F Assessments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
