Rail ¦ Civil Engineering Asset Maintenance

Location: Inverness, Scotland

About The Opportunity

Due to an increase in workload across our Reactive Minor Works Framework, we are seeking an experienced PTS Supervisor to join our team supporting works from our Inverness depot and surrounding area.

This is a key role delivering reactive and planned maintenance works across rail infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution across a variety of civil and rail environments.

About Our Business Unit

We operate within a busy and fast-paced infrastructure environment, delivering multi-disciplinary civil engineering works across rail frameworks and maintenance contracts.

Our project portfolio typically includes:

Rail infrastructure maintenance and renewals Minor civils works and reactive repairs Bridges and structures Rail platforms and station assets Earthworks and drainage

The Role

As Supervisor (PTS), you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise site teams (direct and subcontract labour) Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards Deliver works in accordance with: Approved drawings and specifications Work Package Plans (WPPs) and Task Briefs Promote a strong safety-first culture and report any unsafe conditions Monitor progress and ensure works are completed on time and within scope Maintain accurate site records including diaries and plant logs Provide regular updates to the Project Manager / Site Agent Manage changes in scope and escalate issues when required Identify training needs and support workforce development

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Supervisor within rail or civil engineering Strong background in rail maintenance / reactive works environments Experience supervising multi-disciplinary civils works Good understanding of Network Rail standards and site procedures

Qualifications

PTS (Personal Track Safety) SMSTS – Essential Relevant civil engineering or supervisory qualifications (desirable)
