Position: Supervisor

Location: Midlands (Field Based – must be able to travel)

Company: auto-scan

Pay Rate: £13.10 per hour (PAYE) Start Date: Immediate

The Role

We are recruiting an experienced supervisor for an exciting field-based opportunity in the Midlands, supporting operations across multiple sites when required. The successful candidate will:

  • Ensure business operations align with customer expectations and company objectives
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer requests
  • Oversee team performance to deliver industry-leading service standards
  • Maintain strong customer relations and communications

The supervisor will be responsible for the SQDCM framework:

Safety

  • Perform Risk Assessments and escalate health concerns
  • Monitor Manual Handling adherence
  • Ensure COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) awareness and control measures
  • Conduct Workplace Health and Safety Inspection Checks

Quality

  • Create and version-control well-defined Work Element Sheets (Work Instructions)
  • Train and inspect Deputy Supervisors & Inspectors using boundary samples and defined work instructions
  • Conduct Standardised Work Confirmations
  • Implement Autoscan’s Practical Problem-Solving Process (8D) as required

Delivery

  • Initiate new jobs (including containment and engineering) via our internal EOS system
  • Serve as the primary contact for Quality Technicians and Engineers, coordinating reporting methods/frequency
  • Ensure all contaminant activity/jobs meet customer volume targets

Cost

  • Manage Direct Hour Distribution Confirmations via internal reporting systems
  • Optimise containment activities for efficiency
  • Oversee non-chargeable hours on assigned sites

Morale

  • Coach and mentor direct reports by leading through example
  • Manage attendance and timekeeping via internal reporting systems
  • "GO LOOK SEE" initiative: Walk-site inspections across all shifts

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive manufacturing or a comparable environment
  • Full UK driver’s licence
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Previous supervisory experience

Additional Notes

  • Valid right to work in the UK without restrictions required
  • Candidates must pass a standard criminal record check (DBS)
  • No visa sponsorship available
