The Supervisory Program Officer will provide leadership and management for a team of program officials in the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI). This role involves leading the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives in alignment with NIH’s strategic goals. You will oversee the review and evaluation of research proposals, manage program budgets, and foster collaborations across NIH institutes and with external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in biomedical research program management
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Strong understanding of NIH research priorities and funding mechanisms
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Experience with grant review processes and budget management
- Public trust and suitability determination required

Responsibilities
- Leading and managing a team of program officials
- Developing and implementing new research programs and initiatives
- Overseeing the review and evaluation of research grants and contracts
- Managing program budgets and resources
- Representing NIH at scientific meetings and conferences
- Fostering collaborations with internal and external partners
- Ensuring compliance with NIH policies and procedures
